Motorists are advised that these specifications are likely to improve nearer to the vehicles' actual release date, in particular with the lifespan of the battery life being enhanced.
Renault says: "For many motorists, driving an electric vehicle will be a new experience.
"The absence of noise from the motor, the immediate availability of peak torque and the linear acceleration curve mean that drivers will need to develop new habits."
Consequently, Renault is giving motorists the opportunity to get to a taste of the new technology before it hits the market to acquaint them with the future of green motoring.
The manufacturer says its long-term aim is to produce environmentally-friendly cars with the same specification as combustion-engine vehicles.
Renault's eco-friendly credentials were recognised at the Environmental Transport Association's (ETA) Green Car Awards this year when it picked up the Small MPV prize for the Modus.
Andrew Davis, director at the ETA, said: "The discrepancy between the greenest and the least green cars in Britain today is striking, but the market is changing."
