Suzuki launches CO2 check for consumers

13 August 2009

Vehicle manufacturer Suzuki is introducing a campaign to help its customers stay up-to-date on their CO2 emissions.

As environmental concerns come to the fore, the firm has decided to launch its Green Light initiative, under which Suzuki owners can take their car to one of the company's dealerships and have its CO2 output checked.

The drive may appeal to eco car insurance policyholders wanting to keep their carbon footprint to a minimum.

During the examination, the vehicle will be checked to ensure that emissions are at the correct level, fuel economy is at an optimum level and other factors such as tyre wear are not causing an increase in CO2.

Tyre pressure being inaccurate and faulty brakes can also lead to a negative impact on fuel economy and carbon output as a result.

The firm is offering the check at £15.99 and the inspection can be conducted while the driver waits.

Suzuki is also adding a new section to its website as part of the campaign, in a bid to get the public to interact more with the firm.

Entitled My Suzuki, the area provides the latest information on a number of aspects such as servicing, parts and aftersales advice.

Earlier this year, Suzuki entered one of its Alto models into the Revolve Eco-Rally from Brighton to London, with the car highlighting its efficient performance, achieving more than 64 miles per gallon on the combined cycle, while emitting 103 grams of CO2 per kilometre.
